College Adoption Program
-
The purpose of this program is to help connect college students with the families of Kainos. This is a time to love on, pray for, and encourage the students of the church. It can be as simple as calling and asking about their grades, or it can be as deep as a conversation about faith. We want the students to know that they have somebody who does care for them and their growth while they are away from home.
-
• 1-2 students per family
• Call, text, or meet up to check on the student at least twice a month.
• Help to make sure their needs are met
-
• Invite your student to eat with you
• Ask if they need a ride anywhere
• Want to hang out with the family? Host a game night
• Are they sick? Do they need any medicine?
• Help them connect with services they may need in Cookeville outside of the TTU campus.
• Do they need someone to talk to about their faith?
• Listen and know what is going on in their life
• Join them at one of their on-campus events
• Invite them for holidays as a home away from home
• invite them to the events and activities that your family is involved in
The College adoption program is an enjoyable experience that will enrich not only their lives, but also the life of your family! The goal is to make sure the students’ needs are met, and to pray for them and love them just as you would have wanted someone to do for you at that age or would want someone to do for your child if they move to a different place! Don’t forget the added benefit of giving a Mom or Dad who are missing their child peace of mind that there is someone here checking on them and loving them!
