Do You Know Who You Serve?

"For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints, I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him,"

Ephesians 1:15-17 ESV

Do you know who you serve?

Of course, we think we do, but have you pondered Him?

That is Paul's prayer for Christ to be revealed to His followers. To not just know Him, but know Him intimately.

The passage continues, but the plea in his prayer is to know Christ. An incredible request by Paul on our behalf. Because we will spend countless hours learning about finite things, but not much in the infinite.

Our excuse is that we cannot comprehend Him. Well, that is true, but the request for a Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him is not a work placed on us. Rather, it is a supernatural act that our Lord will do for us. That was Paul's plea for God to do it.

Loved one, stay faithful. God will reveal more of Himself to us as we stay faithful. You have done well so far; now finish the race by keeping on.
